The Foolish Dreamer
The Foolish Dreamer
The Foolish Dreamer - Stephen Williamson
I gazed upon a path, a path I felt was right.
Buckled my shoes, my belt around my waist tight.
Confident as a mighty king who rules a vast city,
but inexperienced as a fool looked upon with pity.
My mind is made up, I shall seek my treasure.
I am not ready to take the first step, but better now than never.
I parted trees, waste lands and navigated through rough seas.
My heart now heavy, my ankles very weak, Oh God guide me please.
I sat down to contemplate the terrible mistake I made.
Wait! If I turn back now, I may be able to return home in a couple of days.
But wouldn't the people of the city laugh, and consider me a crazy man?
The daughter of the rich merchant, would she ever again hold my hand?
Foolish dreamer, a foolish dreamer am I.
Words from a dear friend, I wonder if He was right?
With great anger and tremendous force I threw the first rock in sight
Bang! It collided with a large rock, I stepped forward startled by the gleaming
light. Behold, the rock was filled with crystal! And oh how they shined bright!
